I absolutely LOVVVEEE APPLES!!! I eat one Gala apple per day cause it keeps the doctor AWAY, lol.

I couldn’t wait to make an alternative dessert to Apple Pie with hints of seasonal spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cranberry.

  • Cut the loaf of bread into medium size or 1" cubes. (Let the bread sit overnight once cubed so the batter can adhere better during the baking process.)
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with non stick spray. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon or Pumpkin Spice on the bottom of the pan.
  • Stir together the bread, apples, walnuts, and craisins in a large bowl. Whisk eggs, sour cream, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and spices in a bowl. If using dark rum add and stir gently. Pour over the bread mixture and let soak for 15 minutes.
  • Spoon the mixture into the greased pan and top with a few more walnuts if desired. Bake for 35-38 minutes, Insert a toothpick or knife into the center and if clean when removed then bread pudding is ready.
  • Top with your favorite Ice Cream or Caramel Sauce.
