Gingerol is the active compound in Ginger and it has endless medicinal benefits:
- Antimicrobial – containing properties that can kill microorganisms
- Anti-inflammatory – works to decrease inflammatory mechanisms in the body (used widely for joints or muscle pain)
- Improvement in Blood Glucose levels notably in lowering HbA1c (a lab marker used to determine long term blood glucose level)
- Reductions in oxidation of free radicals leading to Heart disease
- Reduce the onset of age related brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s
- 6-Gingerol is the chemical substance found in Ginger helping to reduce the growth of Cancer cells
